Senate Bill 966 Summary

• Amends Section 6-212 of Title 47 to prevent the Department of Public Safety from charging multiple reinstatement fees when a person has more than one license suspension or revocation.

• Authorizes the Department of Public Safety to issue provisional driver licenses to persons with suspended or revoked licenses, allowing limited driving privileges to reach employment.

• Requires minimum monthly payments of $25.00 toward satisfaction of outstanding reinstatement fees for provisional license holders.

• Directs the Department to develop rules and procedures for establishing the provisional driver license program.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2011.
