ENGROSSED HOUSE BILL 2075 - Summary

• Amends Title 36 of Oklahoma Statutes regarding the Employer Health Insurance Purchasing Group (HIPG) Act to modify membership requirements and operational provisions for health insurance purchasing groups.

• Increases the maximum number of eligible employees an employer may have to participate in a HIPG from one hundred to one hundred seventy-five eligible employees.

• Changes contract requirements between HIPGs and purchasers from a maximum of twelve (12) months to five (5) years, while allowing purchasers to voluntarily elect shorter renewal periods.

• Modifies health benefits plan offerings to allow HIPGs to offer one or more plans with a choice of deductibles, including plans with or without state-mandated health benefits, rather than requiring specific plan types.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2011.
