• Prohibits former state legislators from receiving compensation, remuneration, or expense reimbursement from state agencies, political subdivisions, or other governmental entities for two years after their term ends.

• Provides an exception allowing employment if the compensation does not exceed the former member's base legislative salary during the two-year restriction period.

• Establishes criminal penalties of up to $1,000 fine and/or up to two years imprisonment for violations.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
