OK HB2271

Creates the Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Act of 2012 to make hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT) available to Oklahoma citizens for conditions where it has demonstrated benefits.

Directs the Center for Aerospace and Hyperbaric Medicine at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa to allow use of its hyperbaric chamber for patient treatment and coordinate with Tulsa hospitals for patient care.

Requires Oklahoma Health Care Authority to apply for necessary waivers to provide HBOT for state veterans, designating veterans with traumatic brain injuries or service-connected conditions as highest-priority patients at publicly operated chambers.

Mandates the Authority report to legislative leadership if the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs or Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services require additional statutory changes to enable veteran HBOT treatment.

Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
