HB 2387 Summary

• Amends 74 O.S. 2011, Section 219A regarding the State Auditor and Inspector's responsibilities for continuing professional education.

• Requires the State Auditor and Inspector to provide adequate continuing professional education for all staff members to comply with federal audit requirements under Section 212 of the title.

• Permits training through courses offered by state and federal employees, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and other Office of Management and Budget-recognized organizations.

• Allows employees from other state entities who are mandated to participate in continuing professional education to attend relevant training sessions if the State Auditor and Inspector is reimbursed for participation costs within available resources.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
