Creates the Volunteer Firefighter Protection Act to protect volunteer firefighters from employment termination or discrimination based on their volunteer service.

Prohibits public and private employers from firing employees for joining any fire department or Rural Fire Protection District, or for being late/absent due to emergency response during volunteer duties.

Allows employers to deduct missed work time from employee pay and may request written verification from fire department supervisors documenting emergency response time and date.

Requires volunteer firefighters to make reasonable effort to notify employers of potential absences or tardiness related to emergency calls.

Provides employees terminated in violation of the act a right to sue for reinstatement, back wages, fringe benefits, and seniority restoration; lawsuits must be filed within one year of termination.
