Creates the Alimony Guidelines Task Force to determine whether standardized guidelines for alimony awards in marriage dissolution cases would be equitable and effective.

Task Force consists of 12 members: 5 appointed by the Senate President Pro Tempore (3 family court judges, 2 family law attorneys with 10+ years experience); 5 by the House Speaker (1 law professor specializing in family law, 2 family court judges, 2 family law attorneys with 10+ years experience); and 2 attorneys with 10+ years dissolution experience appointed by the Governor.

Members serve at pleasure of appointing authorities, receive no compensation but are eligible for travel reimbursement, with appointments due by December 31, 2012 and first meeting by January 15, 2013.

Task Force must submit findings and recommendations to legislative leaders and Governor by January 31, 2013, proposing either a statutory alimony guideline or recommending against developing one.

Effective date is November 1, 2012.
