Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 5-130 to expand permissible uses of school buildings and property beyond existing purposes.

School district boards of education may open buildings and permit property use for health, religious, political, literary, community, cultural, scientific, mechanical, agricultural, parental involvement, and public library service purposes.

School districts may contract to provide transportation equipment for any of the specified purposes and may charge reasonable fees to cover costs.

State Board of Education directed to encourage local boards to promote school building and property use for these activities both before and after regular school hours.

Effective date: November 1, 2012.
