Increases penalties for human trafficking-related prostitution offenses under Section 1028 (paragraphs c, e, and f) to life imprisonment without parole

Maintains existing misdemeanor penalties for other prostitution offenses under Section 1028 (paragraphs a, b, d, g) and Section 1029, with fines ranging from $2,500 to $7,500 and jail time of 30 days to 1 year

Retains felony status for child prostitution (up to 10 years imprisonment) and prostitution within 1,000 feet of a school or church (up to 5 years imprisonment)

Keeps existing felony penalty of up to 5 years for knowingly engaging in prostitution while HIV-positive

Effective date of November 1, 2012
