HB 2999 Summary

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 3507.1 to establish "Regional University System of Oklahoma" as an alternate name for the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges.

• Authorizes the Board of Regents to perform official acts and transact official business under the new name while maintaining all existing legal relationships, contracts, and obligations.

• Provides that references to the Board of Regents in laws, contracts, and documents shall be deemed to refer to the Regional University System of Oklahoma.

• Directs that existing supplies with the old name may continue to be used until depleted, with all new supplies ordered after the effective date to bear the new name.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
