HB 3088 Summary

• Changes school board election dates from the second Tuesday in February to November in odd-numbered years and the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even-numbered years, with exceptions for years when a Presidential Preferential Primary is held in February.

• Moves the filing deadline for school board candidates from December to August through the following Wednesday.

• Adds school district officers to those subject to removal under Oklahoma's removal procedures (51 O.S. 2011, Section 91).

• Requires school board members and administrators to disclose receipt of things of value from persons seeking to do business with or having economic interests in the school district, with written reports filed within 30 days and posted publicly.

• Takes effect July 1, 2012, with an emergency clause making provisions effective upon passage and approval.
