SB 1199 Summary

• Amends child support liability provisions under 10 O.S. Section 83 to clarify that interest accrues on support amounts pursuant to Title 43, Section 114.

• Modifies 43 O.S. Section 114 to specify that past-due child support payments draw 10% annual interest from the date they become delinquent, while lump-sum judgments for support owed prior to current support orders draw interest from the first day of the month after judgment entry.

• Authorizes the Director of Human Services or a designee to review and issue decisions on administrative hearing appeals regarding human services benefits (56 O.S. Section 168).

• Adds provisions to 56 O.S. Sections 238.1 and 238.6B requiring that lump-sum judgments for past support draw interest pursuant to Section 114 of Title 43.

• Takes effect November 1, 2012; recodifies sections from Title 63 to Title 10 of Oklahoma Statutes.
