SB 1224 Summary

• Amends 10A O.S. 2011, Section 1-2-101 regarding child abuse and neglect reporting requirements to the Department of Human Services centralized hotline.

• Authorizes the Department to contract with third parties for hotline worker training on interviewing, customer service, narrative writing, case determination, and priority identification.

• Requires the Department to track call data including number of calls screened out, referrals assigned, and allegations found unsubstantiated.

• Expands penalties for false accusations of child abuse in custody proceedings to include: fines up to $5,000, reasonable attorney fees, and reimbursement for guardian ad litem and licensed mental health professional services paid by the accused party.

• Takes effect November 1, 2012.
