SB 1252 Summary

• Authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to accept proposals from public and private partnerships for transportation projects including roads, bridges, railways, and related infrastructure.

• Requires the Secretary to establish a review process for proposals and determine if they are consistent with legislative intent and beneficial to Oklahoma citizens.

• Mandates the Secretary to submit approved proposals to the President Pro Tempore and Speaker of the House, who shall introduce them as bills in the next legislative session for consideration in both chambers.

• Declares that projects approved by the Legislature and Governor shall be deemed in the public interest and subject to all applicable state procedures and requirements.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
