SB 1308 Summary

• Imposes a $3.00 fee on persons convicted of criminal offenses (excluding parking violations) to be collected by courts at the same time as other court fees.

• Creates the Interoperable Public Safety Communications Revolving Fund under the Oklahoma Department of Homeland Security to receive all fees collected under this act.

• Authorizes use of fund monies for statewide interoperable public safety communications system development and enhancement.

• Amends 74 O.S. 2011, Section 51.1a to establish the fund and clarify Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security responsibilities for interoperable communications planning.

• Takes effect July 1, 2012, with emergency declaration for immediate implementation.
