SB1339 Summary

• Amends 17 O.S. 2011, Section 134 regarding telecommunications services and telephone company operations
• Clarifies that telephone companies may repair, maintain, or reconstruct existing telephone properties and add circuits to accommodate increased business of the same character
• Prohibits telephone companies from cutting down, trimming, disturbing, or injuring shade trees on public roads, highways, or street parkages without obtaining consent from abutting property owners
• Declares it unlawful for telephone companies to construct lines that injure shade trees on public roads, highways, or street parkages within cities or towns
• Effective date: November 1, 2012
