SB 1358 Summary

• Creates the "Mallory Jones Child Safety Act" requiring additional traffic citations for drivers of motor vehicles transporting minors under 18 years old while committing moving traffic violations.

• Imposes a $50 fine for each minor passenger (excluding the driver) when the vehicle operator receives a moving traffic violation citation, excluding parking and standing violations.

• Applies to any person operating a motor vehicle and issued a citation for a moving traffic violation who is transporting another person under 18 years of age.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
