SB 1369 Summary

• Requires health benefit plans offered in Oklahoma on or after January 1, 2013 to cover prescribed, orally administered anticancer medications with equivalent coverage to intravenous or injected cancer chemotherapy drugs.

• Mandates that coverage for oral anticancer drugs must be provided on a basis "no less favorable" than coverage for traditional cancer medications (same copayments, deductibles, and approval processes).

• Applies to all "health benefit plans" as defined in Oklahoma Statutes Title 36, Section 6060.4, subsection C, including employer-sponsored and individual insurance plans.

• Effective date set for November 1, 2012.
