Oklahoma Senate Bill 1389 Summary

• Requires the Department of Human Services, in consultation with Oklahoma Health Care Authority, to evaluate all current Medicaid recipients who are aged, blind, or disabled to determine if they are also eligible for Medicare.

• Mandates evaluation of all new applicants to the state Medicaid program as aged, blind, or disabled individuals to determine Medicare eligibility.

• Requires the Department to assist persons determined to be dually eligible in enrolling in the Medicare program in addition to maintaining their state Medicaid coverage.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
