SB 1452 Summary

• Creates the Task Force on Vocational Services for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, effective until November 30, 2012

• Task force shall examine reimbursement rates for employment opportunities, identify any abuses or inefficiencies, and recommend necessary actions or legislation regarding vocational services for persons with developmental disabilities

• Composed of 7 members: 4 appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore (including 2 senators, 1 sheltered workshop director, 1 parent/guardian) and 3 appointed by House Speaker (including 2 representatives and 1 disability advocacy representative)

• Members receive no compensation but are reimbursed for travel expenses; task force must report findings and legislative recommendations to legislature by November 30, 2012

• Effective July 1, 2012 with emergency clause declaring immediate necessity
