SB 1484 Summary

• Creates the Water Conservation, Efficiency, Recycling and Reuse Task Force consisting of 9 members appointed by the Governor, Senate President Pro Tempore, and House Speaker (3 members each)

• Task force members must be Oklahoma residents knowledgeable about various water uses and interests; shall be appointed within 30 days of the act's effective date and may receive travel reimbursement

• Task force purpose is to study water conservation programs in San Antonio, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada, then recommend incentive programs including tax credits, zero-interest loans, cost-sharing, tiered water pricing, irrigation efficiency improvements, and wastewater recycling/reuse systems

• Task force shall be staffed and administered by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board; Secretary of Environment directs meetings; task force must report findings and recommendations by December 15, 2012

• Act is declared an emergency measure and takes effect immediately upon passage and approval
