SB 1493 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. 2011, Sections 858-708 and 858-713 relating to the Oklahoma Certified Real Estate Appraisers Act to modify licensing procedures and fee collection authority.

• Authorizes the Real Estate Appraiser Board to collect fees for experience reviews and review of course provider submissions through administrative rule, in addition to existing statutory fees for licenses and examinations.

• Establishes procedures for certification upgrades requiring applicants to meet prerequisites and minimum experience requirements, with expedited processing that includes automatic second review if initially denied.

• Allows the Real Estate Appraiser Board to employ contract appraisers to review applicant experience for compliance with Appraiser Qualifications Board standards, with notification to applicants if processing exceeds 90 days.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2012, with an emergency clause for immediate effect upon passage and approval.
