ENGR. S. B. NO. 1499 - Summary

• Designates the bridge over East 81st Street on U.S. Highway 169 in Tulsa as the "Corporal Jared Shoemaker Memorial Bridge" and requires the Department of Transportation to place suitable permanent markers on it.

• Designates the section of State Highway 10 from one mile north of Braggs to one mile south of Braggs as "Braggs Veterans Memorial Highway" with required permanent markers.

• Amends 69 O.S. 2011, Section 1600 to exempt memorials honoring killed-in-action U.S. Armed Forces members, law enforcement officers, and firefighters from the requirement that sponsors pay for highway and bridge naming signage costs.

• Effective July 1, 2012, with an emergency clause for immediate implementation.
