SB 1500 Summary

• Amends 82 O.S. 2011, Section 863.2 to modify the Board of Directors structure and governance of the Grand River Dam Authority

• Establishes a seven-member Board of Directors with specific appointment authority: Governor appoints three directors (industrial/commercial representative, economic development/lake/property representative, and at-large), Senate President Pro Tempore appoints one at-large director, House Speaker appoints one at-large director, and two ex officio voting directors from Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives and Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma

• Clarifies board rulemaking authority under the Grand River Dam Authority Act and authorizes the Board to grant exemptions from non-APA rules regarding Grand River waters

• Declares an emergency to make the act effective immediately upon passage and approval
