SB 1543 Summary

• Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 13.1 to expand the list of crimes requiring offenders to serve at least 85% of their sentence before parole eligibility

• Changes "Robbery with a dangerous weapon" language to "Any criminal act" in Section 801 of Title 21, broadening the scope of crimes subject to the 85% requirement

• Persons convicted of specified serious felonies (murder, rape, arson, burglary, bombing, crimes against children, etc.) are ineligible for earned credits or other sentence-reducing mechanisms below 85% of imposed sentence

• Takes effect November 1, 2012
