SB 1544 Summary

• Amends 51 O.S. 2011, Section 6 to modify restrictions on state officers and deputies holding multiple offices simultaneously.

• Adds exception allowing persons holding state offices to serve as reserve special agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control (in addition to existing exceptions for reserve deputy sheriffs and reserve municipal police officers).

• Maintains existing 29 enumerated exceptions to the dual office-holding prohibition, including notaries public, school board members, law enforcement officers in certain circumstances, and various board memberships.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
