SB 1545 Summary

• Adds weapons found in close proximity to forfeitable controlled substances to the list of property subject to forfeiture under the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Act, with a rebuttable presumption of forfeiture.

• Establishes that weapons possessed, used, or available for use to facilitate violations of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Act are subject to forfeiture.

• Requires law enforcement agencies acquiring seized or forfeited property and money to maintain accurate inventories and records of all such property.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
