Director of Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation authorized to appoint up to 20 special officers with Commission approval to investigate oil and gas industry crimes, including larceny of equipment, property, supplies, or products

Special officers designated as "Special Investigators" with same enforcement authority as peace officers, but limited to laws relating directly to oil and gas industry crimes

Special Investigators receive no state compensation or expenses and must obtain $500,000 surety bond approved by the Director that indemnifies against damages from illegal acts

Special commissions expire January 1 of odd-numbered years following appointment, with Director authority to renew, suspend, or revoke at any time
