Re-creates the State Fire Marshal Commission consisting of seven (7) members appointed by the Governor, with staggered initial terms ranging from one (1) to five (5) years.

Requires Governor's appointees to represent specific organizations: statewide associations of career and volunteer firefighters, municipalities, Fire Chiefs, electrical workers, and exclusively professional firefighters.

Changes one commission position qualification from "Safety Engineer" to "Fire Investigator."

Mandates Senate confirmation for all commission member appointments after initial terms, with subsequent appointments serving five (5) year terms.

Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
