Judges who first become justices or judges on or after January 1, 2013, shall be members of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System instead of the Uniform Retirement System for Justices and Judges.

Existing judges whose initial service began before January 1, 2013, remain in the Uniform Retirement System for Justices and Judges and cannot transfer to the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System.

Amends 20 O.S. Section 1102 to add exception language allowing new judges to participate in the public employees system rather than the judicial-specific system.

Amends 74 O.S. Sections 902, 911, and 913.2 to define judges as eligible employees of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System and specify their membership start date.

Effective date is January 1, 2013.
