Modifies the salary of district attorneys from the previous formula (equal to 98% of district judge salary) to a flat rate of $121,886.00 per year, payable monthly, effective July 1, 2012.

Removes obsolete salary provisions effective January 1, 1997 and January 1, 1999 that are no longer applicable.

Eliminates the provision allowing counties with populations of 400,000 or more to supplement district attorney and assistant district attorney salaries up to 25% of the state salary.

Maintains that all district attorney employees (except special district attorneys) are state officers or employees, and that salaries and operating expenses shall be paid by the state through the District Attorneys Council.

Declares an emergency effective date of July 1, 2012 for the act to take immediate effect upon passage and approval.
