SB 1622 Summary

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 5-106 regarding governing boards of school districts and designation as "board of education"

• Clarifies that the superintendent appointed by the board serves as executive officer and performs duties as directed by the board

• Allows boards of two or more school districts to contract with a single superintendent under Section 5-106A instead of the previous reference

• Permits school districts with fewer than 500 average daily membership pupils to allow a superintendent to simultaneously serve as principal

• Effective date: November 1, 2012
