SB 1646 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma law regarding advertising of alcoholic beverages by modifying 37 O.S. 2011, Section 516.

• Licensed package stores may display one sign at their retail outlet bearing the words "Retail Alcoholic Liquor Store" or substantially similar wording.

• Sign specifications: individual letters must not exceed 4 inches in height or 3 inches in width, with line spacing not more than 1 inch apart if multiple lines are used.

• Replaces the phrase "same" with "alcoholic beverages" and clarifies language throughout the statute regarding prohibited advertising.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
