Senate Bill 1664 Summary

• Amends 68 O.S. 2011, Section 2816 to modify duties and responsibilities of the Oklahoma Tax Commission's Ad Valorem Division, transferring certain functions to the Oklahoma State University Center for Local Government Technology.

• Requires the OSU Center for Local Government Technology to develop and administer educational accreditation programs, curriculum materials, examinations, and continuing education requirements for county assessors and their staff.

• Transfers all powers, duties, responsibilities, property, assets, and liabilities related to the computer-assisted mass appraisal system from the Tax Commission's Ad Valorem Division to the OSU Center for Local Government Technology.

• Establishes funding mechanisms through the "Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal Implementation Revolving Fund" with expenses paid from the Office of the State Auditor and Inspector or the University, which may charge reasonable fees for educational services.

• Effective July 1, 2012 with emergency clause provisions for immediate implementation.
