SB 1667 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma laws governing low-point beer permits and alcoholic beverage licenses under 37 O.S. 2011, Sections 163.7, 163.10, 514, and 521.

• Clarifies that no state agency, instrumentality, or political subdivision may require additional licenses, permits, or fees related to low-point beer sales beyond those authorized by the Oklahoma Tax Commission and ABLE Commission.

• Prohibits state and local agencies from interfering with the Oklahoma Tax Commission's regulation of low-point beer distribution and sales by wholesalers and retail dealers.

• Establishes that the ABLE Commission has sole authority to issue licenses under the Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, except where specifically authorized for cities, towns, counties, and the Tax Commission.

• Effective July 1, 2012, with an emergency declaration allowing immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
