Senate Bill 1684 Summary

• Amends 63 O.S. 2011, Section 2-301 regarding the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Act by clarifying the title reference to the "Director of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control."

• Authorizes the Director to promulgate rules and regulations for registration and control of manufacture, distribution, dispensing, prescribing, administering, or use of controlled dangerous substances for scientific purposes within Oklahoma.

• Requires the Director to promulgate rules for training, certification, and registration of animal control officers to purchase, possess, and administer controlled dangerous substances for animal control purposes under Title 4, Sections 501-508 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Directs the Director to cooperate with federal, state, and local entities with jurisdiction over animal euthanasia when establishing animal control officer regulations.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
