SB1692 Summary

• State entities prohibited from entering contracts with or making grants to any entity that performs abortions or operates abortion facilities using state or federally-administered funds.

• Any existing appropriations to pay for such contracts or grants are cancelled, and funds become unavailable for these purposes.

• Office of State Finance must determine that funds are unavailable and contracts or grants shall be terminated for entities performing or maintaining abortion facilities.

• Exemption provided for hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers licensed by the state.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
