• Changes "this act" to "the Governmental Tort Claims Act" for consistency and clarity in referring to the liability standards that apply to the state and political subdivisions.

• Adds gender-neutral language by changing "his" to "his or her" regarding employee actions outside the scope of employment.

• Adds new subsection C establishing that the Governmental Tort Claims Act does not limit liability for adverse personnel actions taken against employees for refusing to attend religious events or events sponsored by religious organizations.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
