ENGROSSED SENATE BILL NO. 1817 - Summary

• Creates Task Force on Creating Administrative Efficiencies for school districts, operating until November 30, 2012, to examine ways to reduce administrative costs and overhead while assessing impact on school operations and student learning.

• Task force membership appointed pursuant to Section 1 of Enrolled Senate Bill No. 536 of the 1st Session of the 53rd Oklahoma Legislature, with the Senate Education Committee Chair designating the task force chair and any replacement appointments due by August 31, 2012.

• Establishes operational procedures including majority quorum requirement, staff support from State Department of Education and legislature, and vacancy filling by original appointing authorities.

• Members receive no compensation or travel reimbursement for service on the task force.

• Task force must submit report of findings and recommendations to the Governor, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Representatives; effective July 1, 2012, with emergency clause declared.
