SB 1825 Summary

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 5-106 to clarify the official designation of school district governing boards as "boards of education."

• Establishes that superintendents appointed by boards serve as executive officers and perform duties as directed by the board.

• Permits multiple school districts to contract jointly with a single superintendent under Section 5-106A provisions.

• Allows school districts with fewer than 500 average daily membership pupils to have their superintendent simultaneously serve as a principal.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
