OK SB1845

Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 99 to update the definition and authority of "peace officers" in Oklahoma law.

Replaces the phrase "State of Oklahoma" with "this state" for modernized statutory language.

Confirms that federal law enforcement officers (U.S. Marshals, Marshals Service deputies, and other full-time federal officers) have the same authority as peace officers within Oklahoma when assisting local law enforcement or responding to emergencies.

Federal officers remain empowered to arrest persons committing violations of Oklahoma state law when rendering assistance at the request of local officers or in emergency situations.

Effective date: November 1, 2012.
