SB1847 Summary

• Amends 47 O.S. 2011, Section 2-105.2 to authorize the Department of Public Safety to conduct Highway Patrol Academies as needed and within available funds

• Requires the Department to provide quarterly reports to the Legislature and Governor on Oklahoma Highway Patrol staffing levels and whether individual Troopers' personal safety is at increased risk due to staffing deficiencies

• Highway Patrol Academies cannot commence and no funds can be expended until either the Contingency Review Board approves the academy or the Legislature authorizes it

• Effective date: November 1, 2012
