SB 1884 Summary

• Amends 22 O.S. 2011, Section 1402 to expand the definition of "racketeering activity" under the Oklahoma RICO Act.

• Adds seven new categories of felony offenses to the list of conduct that qualifies as racketeering activity: exploitation of elderly persons or disabled adults, computer crimes, unlawful proceeds, insurance fraud, workers' compensation fraud, and references to public corruption under Title 74.

• Adds crimes related to terrorism and terrorist activities designated by the U.S. Secretary of State as foreign terrorist organizations.

• Makes clarifying amendments to existing racketeering activity definitions, including changes related to fraud provisions and voter fraud statutes.

• Effective date: November 1, 2012.
