SB 1890 Summary

• Requires state agencies, boards, commissions, and entities in the executive branch to use the Trip Optimizer system of the Department of Central Services when computing travel costs for motor vehicle trips exceeding 100 miles per day (unless using a dedicated state vehicle).

• Mandates that the Trip Optimizer system results determine the maximum authorized travel reimbursement amount and that all travel claims must include the system's results showing the lowest cost travel option.

• Exempts nonappropriated state agencies and employees whose workplaces are located in municipalities with populations under 250,000 from the Trip Optimizer requirement; these employees are reimbursed under Section 500.4 of Oklahoma law.

• Establishes an effective date of July 1, 2012, with emergency clause making the act effective immediately upon passage and approval.
