SB 1917 Summary

• Amends 43A O.S. 2001, Section 2-214 to make language gender-neutral in provisions governing training schools within the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

• Replaces gendered pronouns ("he," "him," "his") with gender-neutral language ("the person," "such person") in the statute describing employee training program requirements.

• Maintains existing requirements that employees receiving training or tuition assistance must contract to either continue employment with the Department for a period equivalent to the training or reimburse the Department for costs incurred.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2012.
