SB 1918 Summary

• Amends 43A O.S. 2001, Section 2-214 regarding training schools within the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

• Replaces gender-specific pronouns ("he," "him," "his") with gender-neutral language ("the person," "such person") in statute describing employee training agreements

• Maintains existing authority for the Commissioner to establish training schools and pay employee training costs through salaries, tuition, and subsistence

• Requires employees receiving training benefits to enter contracts obligating them to either continue employment with the Department for a period equal to their training duration or reimburse the Department for training costs paid

• Effective date: November 1, 2012
