HB 1340 Summary

• Amends 22 O.S. 2011, Section 996.1 to modify the definition of "Offender" in the Delayed Sentencing Program for Young Adults

• Expands eligible offenders to include adults ages 18-21 and juveniles certified to stand trial as adults convicted of nonviolent felonies

• Adds new offenses to the exclusion list, including unlawful manufacturing of controlled dangerous substances, attempted unlawful manufacturing, aggravated manufacturing, and violations of the Trafficking in Illegal Drugs Act

• Also excludes offenders with charges pending for violent offenses and those with prior convictions for discharging firearms or other deadly weapons at dwellings

• Effective date: November 1, 2013
