HB1379 Summary

• Amends 25 O.S. 2011, Section 307 to expand the purposes for which public bodies may hold executive sessions

• Adds new permitted executive session purposes including: self-evaluation and professional ethics meetings with statewide association representatives; strategy discussions regarding administrative efficiencies and school consolidation; and matters whose immediate disclosure would adversely affect public entity finances

• Maintains existing executive session purposes related to personnel, real property, legal matters, student discipline, confidential information, terrorism-related discussions, and information technology security

• Requires executive sessions to follow strict procedures including agenda notation, majority vote with recorded voting, and public votes on any actions taken

• Effective date: November 1, 2013
