HB1449 Summary

• Amends 22 O.S. 2011, Section 1115.1A to allow defendants released on personal recognizance for traffic violations to enter guilty or nolo contendere pleas electronically through the court website or other electronic methods.

• Permits court clerks to furnish proof of case disposition via e-mail to defendants who have provided an e-mail address, in addition to traditional mail delivery.

• Amends 29 O.S. 2011, Section 9-112 to allow defendants charged with certain wildlife violations to enter pleas electronically using methods provided by the court.

• Amends 38 O.S. 2011, Section 20.1 to authorize jurors to take and sign the oath or affirmation electronically through the court website or other electronic methods, and permits court clerks to maintain juror oaths in electronic format.

• Effective date: November 1, 2013.
