OK HB1641

Amends 63 O.S. 2011, Section 1-502.1 to require agencies employing emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, peace officers, correctional officers, health care workers, and funeral directors to implement universal precautions for preventing communicable disease transmission as published by the Centers for Disease Control.

Directs the State Board of Health to promulgate rules and guidelines establishing a notification system to inform emergency medical personnel, health care workers, funeral directors, peace officers, and Good Samaritan Act volunteers of risk exposures during health care activities, emergency response, or funeral preparation.

Requires the Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Department of Human Services, Oklahoma Cerebral Palsy Commission, and State Board of Corrections to each promulgate their own rules, guidelines, or policies for notifying employees of communicable disease risk exposures.

Effective date: November 1, 2013.
